99 -- REPLACEMENT VIBRATION CONTROL SYSTEM, SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT SOL 1 PI-Q-0036-98 DUE 020298 POC Marla Pope, Contracting Officer (202) 305-7312 Federal Prison Industries intends to award a sole source contract to Unholtz Dickie 6 Brookside Drive., Wallingford, CT 06482.for installation of a Vibration control system Model UD-VWIN which is compatible to an existing Unholtz Dickie Electrodynamic Shaker, Model T-1000-58E. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 1 PI-Q-0036-98. The solicitation document and incorporated clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-02. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on an other than full and open competitive basis pursuant to FAR 6.301-1 with Unholtz Dickie since they are the only source which can provide a Vibration controller system to interface and meet the compatibility of an existing Unholtz Dickie Electrodynamic Shaker system. The Vibration Controller system shall include Pentium processor with 233 NHZ, 64 RAM, 3GB hard disk space. One 17 inch SVGA color monitor, mouse controls, keyboard, and Windows 95 operations. Plug in boards, DSP-4 and BGN-4 with parallel 16 Bit A/D (4 Channel selectable input sensitivity 1-10000mV/g). LP filtering for each channel. The software required is Random Control, Sine control, classical shock control, smart tool and Random on random control. The award will result in a firm fixed price definite delivery type contract.
