A -- BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR BASIC RESEARCH CONSORTIUM ON LANDMINE DETECTION -- MODIFICATION TO EXTEND DUE DATE FOR PROPOSALS AND NOTIFICATION OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND DEMONSTRATION SOL DAAG55-98-R-BAA3 DUE 030598 POC Information Line -- (919) 549-4375 The purpose of this modification is: (1) To announce the availability of additional information illustrating some basic issues of the detection process for some detector types (sample time and frequency signatures) in order to assist offerors in preparing proposals. This information will be made available on the ARO web site (http://www.aro.ncren.net/research) during the week of 19 January 1998; (2) to notify offerors that field demonstrations of the currently used electromagnetic induction detector operated by military personnel, as well as a vehicular mounted detector, are anticipated to be held Monday, 26 January 1998 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Attendance is open to all prospective offerors holding United States Citizenship or to Legal Permanent Residents ("Green Card" holders); however, prior registration will be required. Registration details will be posted on or after 15 January 1998 at the above-noted web site; (3) to advise offerors that total funds available for ARO awards from this BAA may be restricted to approximately $750,000 per year; therefore, more awards are anticipated at the $100,000 per year level than at higher levels; (4) to extend the due date for proposal submissions to Thursday, 5 March 1998. Accordingly, the following dates contained in the BAA are revised: Acknowledgement of receipt of proposal -- revised to 9 Mar 98; Selectees notified -- revised to 9 Apr 98; Awards in place -- revised to 1 Jun 98; Anticipated funding periods (budget) -- revised to 1 Jun 98-30 May 99; 1 Jun 99-30 May 00; 1 Jun 00-30 May 01.
