special notice is for respondents to the NRL Sources Sought which was
published September 18, 1997 or for any other interested parties. This
telescope would be for space object tracking and astronomical viewing
and would be movable. These preliminary specifications for an NRL
Telescope are for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as
a request for proposal (RFP), an Invitation for Bids (IFB), or as an
obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow on
capabilities. The Government does not intend, at this time, to award a
contract or otherwise pay for the information provided. No entitlement
or payment of direct costs or charges by the Government will arise as
a result of submissions of responses. Any procurement will be
separately synopsized in the Commerce Business Daily. Comment are
