B -- GEOPHYSICAL INVESTIGATION OF A PORTION OF THE FORMER CAMP MCCAIN, MISSISSIPPI IN ORDER TO PROVIDE INFORMATION NECESSARY TO STATISTICALLY CHARACTERIZE UXO AT THE SITE. SOL DACA87-98-Q-0037 DUE 012998 POC Purchasing Agent Demetra Wolaver (205) 895-1165 (Site Code DACA87) The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, intends to make a sole source award to GeoCenters, Newton Centre, MA to perform a geophysical investigation of a portion of the former Camp McCain, Mississippi in order to provide information necessary to statistically characterize UXO at the site. The work required under this Scope of Work (SOW) falls under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP), (OE), which may constitute an imminent endangerment, exits on property formerly owned by The Department of Defense (DOD). Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) is buried beneath the site or may possibly be on the ground surface. This action will be performed consistent with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) Section 104, and in substantial compliance with NCP Sections 300.120(c) and 300.295(e). Neither Federal, State, nor local permits are required for any response action taken on this site. The applicable provisions of 29CFR 1910.120 shall apply. Consistent with CERCLA, all work shall be performed in accordance with (IAW) all applicable laws and regulations. This is not a formal solicitation. The synopsis of intent to make a sole source award is not a request for quotes. Contractors who can provide the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, with the above services are invited to submit in writing by facsimile to Demetra Wolaver, 205-895-1165, an affirmative response which includes, as a minimum, the proposed credentials and qualifications, any applicable pricing data, and any additional information indicating a bona fide ability to meet synopsis, and all such responses will be considered by the agency. If no written responses are received within 15 calendar days, a sole source award will be issued. See Note 22. (0014)
