Sharon Hall (816) 426-7267 ext. 231 The U.S. Department of Commerce,
NOAA, National Weather Service requires the installation of a security
detection system at 36 Weather Forecast Offices located throughout 14
states in the Midwest area. Each security detection system will be
comprised of the following three elements: (1) a proximity reader
control system; (2) a closed circuit television system; and (3) conduit
and outside signage. The proximity reader control system equipment
shall be the Sensormatic/Software House Proximity Reader HID version
with keypad, Model Number RM2-PH. The closed circuit television system
shall be PELCO or equal. Installation of all security detection
systems is expected to be completed by July 30, 1998. Each site will
have a set of plans and drawings. Davis-Bacon wage determinations will
apply to this project. The estimated project cost is between $500,000
and $1,000,000. This requirement is not set-aside for small
businesses. Award will be made on an all-or-none basis. Copies of the
specifications, plans and drawings are limited and will be issued on a
first-come, first-served basis. All requests must be in writing.
