R -- IMPLEMENT ACTIVITIES TO ASSIST IN MEETING EMSC FIVE YEAR PLAN OBJECTIVES SOL HRSA-98-MCHB-H0879A DUE 020298 POC Aileen Broider-301-443-5231 The Health Resources and Services Administration intends to negotiate on a SOLE SOURCE basis with the American Association of Poison Control Centers, 3201 New Mexico Avenue, Suite 310, Washington, DC, 20016. This procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The purpose of this procurement is to implement activities to assist in meeting the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Five Year Plan objectives. The contractor shall: participate in EMSC meetings; develop and disseminate information for newsletter publication and electronic dissemination; identify potential funding sources needed to stabilize the nation's system of poison control; develop a plan for continuing education for poison control center specialists; and develop standards and a report on stocking emergency antidotes for emergency departments and hospital pharmacies. The American Association of Poison Control Centers is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required work and services. The period of performance is one year.
