Erin M. Fahey, (415)522-3167 Provide for construction of six magistrate
court facilities located in the Roybal Federal Building and Courthouse
in Los Angeles, California. The project involves interior renovation
of one full floor (5th floor) and one half floor (6th floor) of this
occupied and fully operational courthouse. Each of the magistrate
"court facilities" includes courtroom, judge chamber suite, support
spaces such as jury rooms, toilet rooms, storage rooms, private
circulation space for court personnel, prisoner movement and holding
areas, public lobbies and other related areas. Construction services
are required to provide all labor and materials including, but not
limited to: selective demolition, unit masonry walls with
security-rated ceilings, fixtures, hardware and furnishings, rough and
finish carpentry, structural steel support framing, metal-stud
partitioning and ceiling systems, custom and premium grade millwork,
doors, hardware, glazing, acoustical materials and finishes, stone
walls and flooring, ceramic tile, other floor, wall, window and ceiling
finishes, signage and equipment accessories, wheelchair lifts, seating,
and other materials and labor as specified. In addition, all labor and
materials as required to provide new, full-service plumbing,
electrical, mechanical, fire protection, fire alarm and control systems
will be required, as well as connection to and coordination with
existing building utility services and systems. All construction work
will be interior to the existing building shell. Utilities for
construction use will be provided. Construction activities will be
subject to noise and operational restrictions during regular business
hours. Construction employees will be subject to security background
screening. Security screening is required for all employees and
visitors to the building and parking garage. The completion time is
three hundred thirty (330) calendar days from receipt of notice to
proceed. Estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
Liquidated damages apply as stated in the specifications.
Specifications will be available on or about February 18, 1998. Offers
are due on March 18, 1998, at 4:00 p.m., and will be opened privately.
Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1542 with an average gross
revenue of $17 million for the last three (3) years. This project is
open to all business concerns in accordance with the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Therefore, responses from both
small and large business concerns will be considered and evaluated for
selection. Award to the successful offeror, if not a small business
concern, may be contingent upon submission and approval of an
acceptable subcontracting plan. A payment of $120.00 (approx.)
non-refundable charge is required for all bid packages. Please contact
