synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. The request for quotation number is
DTCG42-98-Q-TFA019. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-02. The Coast Guard intends to redesign the switching mechanism for
the AN/FPN-64 LORAN Transmitter. The new design will utilize high
voltage, vacuum relay/contactors similar to existing contactors in the
AN/FPN-44 LORAN Transmitter. Available space is limited and fixed, so
maximum physical size of the contactors is critical. Provide quotes
for High Voltage, Vacuum Relay/Contactor. The device must meet the
following general specifications: (a) Normally open contactor, (b)
Actuating voltage: 120VAC, (c) Rated contactor voltage: 40KV, (d)
~Rated current: 440 Amps RMS, (e) Single cycle sinusoid current (10
microsecond at 300 PPS): 11,000 Amps Peak, (f) Capacitor discharge
(decay to zero in 200 microseconds): 8800 Amps Peak, (g) Auxiliary
Contacts: 1 set DPDT, (h) Auxiliary contact rating: 15 Amps at 120 VAC,
(i) Maximum overall dimensions: 6"W. x 8"D. x 19.5"H., (j) Maximum
operational altitude: 10,000 feet. The contactors must meet all of the
general specifications. The requirement is for 20 each. The required
delivery date is 30 June 1998. The award will be a firm fixed-price
contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition
Procedures. Shipping terms will be FOB destination and will be
delivered to the U.S. Coast Guard Loran Support Unit, Wildwood, New
Jersey, 08260-3232 with inspection/acceptance at destination. FAR

this announcement must provide the information contained in 52.212-1,

copy of provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications
-- Commercial Items. The Contractor shall extend to the Government the
full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in
a similar sale, provided such warranty is available at no additional
cost to the government. The offeror should also provide its Commercial
and Government Entity (CAGE) code, Contractor Establishment code (DUNS
number) and Tax Identification Number. If a change occurs in this
requirement, only those offerors that respond to this announcement
within the required time frame will be provided any changes/amendments
and considered for future discussions and/or award. The Government
intends to award to the responsible contractor whose quotation is the
most advantageous to the Government considering technical capability,
price, and past performance. All responsible sources may submit an
offer which will be considered by the agency. The written proposals and
