is an infrared radiation sensing device and contains a silicon chip
photodiode sensor with 2 temperature compensation resistors, a
fuel-cooled heat sink that encloses an electronic package, a sensor
lens and tube that contains 2 sapphire lenses and a tip that is screwed
to sensor lens and tube. Dimensions: Measures appor x 13 to 16 ins. In
lenght width measures approx from 1/2 in. To 4 ins. Function: The
pyrometer optic alloy scans a portion of each high presure Turb Blade
as blades rotate thru optical viewing path of pyrometer. A signal is
created and sent to aircraft control where it is used to establish
conditions that prevent overtemp of HPT blades. Material: Metal Alloys.
