E-MAIL: NIST Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires a wavelength
dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer system. The system shall be
composed of a spectrometer, robotic sample changer, and computer. The
system shall be capable of performing unattended, automated
multielement analysis with high resolution, sensitivity, precision and
accuracy. The instrument must be of an established design commonly
used for qualitative, quantitative, and semiquantitative measurements
of X-ray fluorescence phenomena. The instrument must be fully automated
in all of its operating parts including: X-ray power settings, sample
loading, movements of collimators, crystals, detectors, masks and
filters environment control for temperature and atmosphere, and safety
interlock devices. Offerors will be required to submit a demonstration
of performance capabilities based on a sample provided by NIST with
their offer. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price
procurement. Delivery is required 90 days after contract award at NIST
with F.O.B. destination . All responsible sources may submit a
proposal which will be considered by the agency. The anticipated
contract award date is March 30, 1998. Please request copies of the
