The Principal location of work is to be Tenn-Tom Waterway (TTW), AL and MS. This work will require dredging to depths of 12 feet or greater over varying channel widths. The dredge material will have to be transported at distances up to 11,000 feet from the dredging site at lifts as high as 70 feet. The contract will require a 20, 22 or 24-inch dredge with respective minimum horsepower requirements of 2500 and 2700. These requirements are due to long line lengths and high lifts that exist at various locations on the river system. The estimated market value of the equipment required for this contract is $4,500.000. Optional items are included. Bid documents are available on or about March 4, 1998.
