Interior Main Post Office located in Evensville, TN on a site
approximately 30,000 SF (.70 Acres -- 150'x200'). The Offeror must own
or control the site. The minimum site size identified is considered
adequate for postal needs. However, should the offered site require
unusual setbacks, on-site water and sewer systems, or any other
conditions which would require additional land, the offeror must ensure
that sufficient additional land is included and made a part of the
proposal. The property offered must be properly zoned to permit use for
a postal facility or must be capable of being rezoned for such use
without delay of construction. The onwer will be responsible for all
action necessary to obtain zoning prior to lease to the Postal Service.
The successful offeror must comply with all Federal, state and
municipal laws, codes, and regulations including those of the state and
local highway departments. Where streets or highways are used as
boundaries, sites on eitherside of the street/highway are considered
within the preferred area. The successful offeror will be required to
present a boundary and topographic site survey and subsurface
explorations as specified by the Postal Service. Successful offeror
will also be responsible for preparation of site adapt which must be
approved by the Postal Service. Additionally, it will be the successful
offeror's responsibility to provide any and all improvements, whether
on-site, to meet Dept. of Transportation requirements, including, but
no limited to acceleration/deceleration lanes, storm sewer, or other
drainage improvements. The successful offeror shall submit, within 20
days of acceptance of their proposal, a Performance Bond with a
corporate surety certified as acceptable by the Treasury Department as
well as a Labor and Material Payment Bond with a corporate surety
certified as acceptable by the Treasury Department. The USPS reserves
the right to award within 120 days after close of the solicitation.
Award notices will be sent to all offerors, local plan rooms and posted
in the Commerce Business Daily ONLY. Only offers returned via Personal
Hand Delivery and/or United States Postal Service (i.e., First Class
Mail, Express Mail or Priority Mail) will be considered in compliance
with this solicitation. Any other carriers will be rejected. Written
requests, along with the $40.00 per package non-refundable fee should
be directed to Jennifer Merriss, Facilities Contract Technician,
Facilities Service Office, USPS, 4000 DeKalb Technology Parkway,
Building 300, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30340-2799. Checks/Money Orders
should be made payable to "USPS -- DISBURSING OFFICER". NO CASH WILL BE
ACCEPTED. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR PLANS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Plans and
specifications will be available on or about 1/19/98. Requests for plan
holder's lists must be furnished via "WRITTEN" request and may be faxed
