Thompson, Contract Officer, 253 589 4027 The American Lake Division of the Puget Sound Health Care System requires the services of a general construction contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the for the replacement of the HVAC system in the Building 18 (animal quarters) at the American Lake Division. The new HVAC system will be a fully redundant system capable of maintaining room temperatures to plus or minus one degree. The work will involve the replacement of all existing equipment and controls but will utilize existing ductwork. Work will include the installation of a government provided heat exchanger. Construction trades involved are primarily mechanical and electrical. The contractor will be responsible for the test and balance of the HVAC system to meet the contract HVAC requirements. There will be site inspection on February 12, 1998 at 10AM in Building 17 at the American Lake Division. Completion time will be 60 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost range will be from $25,000 to $100,000. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed contract. This will not be a small business set aside solicitation. Standard Industrial Code is 1711. The solicitation package will be available on or about January 28, 1998. All solicitation package requests must be accompanied by a non-refundable $50 fee, which must be in the form of money order or certified bank check.
