The proposed contract action does not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold and is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotationsN received within 14 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government intends to modify contract USZA95-97-C-0022 to incorporate a requirement for the contractor, Robertson Aviation, to manufacture and install a fuel probe into the Crash Worthy Fuel Tanks they are manufacturing for the Government. The probes shall be manufactured from composite materials; include bonded electrical connections; and provide 0 to 5 VDC output signal for each probe. The Government has determined that Robertson Aviation, the crashworthy fuel tank manufacturer, is the only source capable of manufacturing and delivering a probe for the fuel tanks in sufficient time to meet the crash worthy fuel tank schedule requirement. Robertson shall manufacture and install a total of 45 fuel probes. There are no detailed plans or drawings available for the fuel probe. (0020)
