70 -- CORRESPONDENCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE POC Henry Weeks (202) 273-2094 The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC) intends to acquire commercial off the shelf (COTS) correspondence/directory software for producing, updating, and distributing directory information and is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of firms to provide COTS that will accomplish directory and related correspondence functions. Process functions include, but are not limited to, creating a master directory database and a policy database that will serve as the backbone for address/phone/fax information as well as the mass mailing program in the judiciary. Technical and operational requirements include data entry input through manual keyboard, input of database, electronic transfer of records from current directory database and input of data updates through CC:mail, on-line edits and updates, system alerts and event notices, search and query functions, producing mass print requests for envelopes and labels and producing reports. The software shall employ the use of a graphical user interface. The master data base must run under Windows NT 4.0 or greater,. The client application must run under Windows 3.11, Window 95, and Windows NT Workstations. The software shall also employ security and internal controls which distinguish read, write, and view levels of authority. On line backup, archiving and purging functions are also required. The object of this survey is to assess the marketplace for determining the availability of COTS that will currently or with few modifications meet the above stated requirements. Firms with the ability to furnish this type of correspondence COTS software are encouraged to submit a detailed description of their capabilities to support the Judiciarys requirements and available functional and technical literature. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only. All information should be submitted to the above address not later than February 10, 1998. Firms are advised that this is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor does the Government intend to pay for any information solicited. (0020)
