The USDA Forest Service, Southwestern Region requests proposals to provide Remote Sensing Support in the USDA Forest Service, Southwestern Region, Regional Office, Albuquerque, NM. The various activities include the following: Develop and implement remote sensing projects and procedures on data required from both space and airborne imaging platforms, to include landsat, SPOT, AVHRR, airborne videography, digital photography, FLIR and imaging radiometers. Develop and apply non-standard image processing algorithms when necessary to complete projects. Perform appropriate field verification of remote sensing projects and develop and implement new field methodologies related remote sensing data collection. Collect and perform mission planning of airborne videography, digital/standard photography and FLIR data as a light aircraft or helicopter crew member. Investigate, test and supervise new applications for airborne remote sensing tools. Consolidate raster and vector data sets from various data sources and formats for analysis. Collect field data using Global Positiioning System technology and perform post processing to refine data. Analyze digital data using GIS systems. Generate reports and oral presentations based on remote sensing analysis. Work with other resource management staffs to acquire and process remote sensing data specific to their needs. Perform cartographic drafting/digitizing. TA/Lecture at the regional remote sensing class. This project is set aside for small business. (0020)
