(202)366-4256 This is Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) identifies the
Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA)intention to sponsor applied
research in the area of Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technology for
highway bridges. There are two objectives of this BAA. The first is to
develop new NDE technologies and the methods for detection of unsafe
conditions on highway bridges in time for corrective action. The second
objective is to develop new NDE technologies and methods to rapidly,
efficiently and correctly determine the condition of highway bridges or
bridge components in support of bridge management systems. Note: Submit
written requests to the address indicated above and include two (2)
self-addressed gummed labels. No telephone, Fax or E-Mail requests will
be acceped. All RFP'S will be mailed in 3 1/2" diskette, WordPerfect
6.1 format, and the RFP and its forms/attachments are also available
for downloading on our Webpage at
HTTP://WWW.FHWA.DOT.GOV/AAA/HAMHOME.HTM. Potential offerors who
download copies of solicitations from our Webpage will NOT
automatically receive any amendments to those solicitations unless you
have also sent in the letter request. It is your respOnsibility to
check back frequently to see if FHWA has issued any amendments to
solicitations you have downloaded. All amendments will be posted on,
and may be downloaded from our Webpage. Printed copied will made
available to those without Internet capabilities upon receipt of a
