These projects consist of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to performed one or two Design/Build Expansions at the following locations: Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC), 1400 West Jordan Street, Pensacola, FL 32501-9998, and Processing and Distribution Facility (P&DF), 2800 South Adams Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301-9997, in accordance with plans and specifications. Design/Build Contractors may submit proposals on one or both projects/locations. One or two fixed price contract(s) to Design/Build the expansions will be awarded to one or two contractors whose proposal(s) are most advantageous to the Postal Service. The expansion for Pensacola P & D C is as follows: Complete the Design and Construction of a 31,235 gross sq. ft. building expansion as per the guidelines/drawings/specifications/applicable codes. Demolition of an existing retaining wall, and installation of a new retaining wall. Rework the existing parking/storm drainage/site lighting at the west end of the site. The facility shall remain fully operational at all times. Phasing of the work will be necessary. The building expansion will be a concrete slab, a steel structure, metal insulated deck with a modified bituman roof, brick veneer and synthetic stucco backed by concrete block. The expansion for Tallahassee P & D F is as follows: Complete the Design and Construction of: a 30,077 gross sq. ft. building expansion as per the guidelines/drawings/specifications/applicable codes. Demolition of existing paving/site lighting/platform, removal of trees, and installation of a new detention pond/paving/platform/canopy, and reworking the storm drainage/site lighting. The facility shall remain fully operational at all times. Phasing of the work will be necessary. The building expansion will be a concrete slab, a steel structure, metal insulated deck with a modified bituman roof, and synthetic stucco backed by concrete block. Both facilities are USPS owned and will be expanded onto USPS owned property. Offerors will be required to submit both technical and price proposals. Technical submittals will require evidence of: (1) Experience; (2) Management Plan; (3) Financial Capability; and (4) Organization. Time of completion for both facilities is 270 calendar days after notice to proceed, to include both design and construction. The scopes of work are further defined in the drawings and specifications. The Total estimated cost for Pensacola, Florida, is between $2,700,000 and $3,200,000. The Total estimated cost for Tallahassee, Florida, is between $2,500,000 and $3,000,000. Return date for the above projects is March 5, 1998.
