COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 23,1998 PSA#2017N/A Potential NDI requirement for an estimated quantity of 500 EA
AN/GRC- 17X(V)4 Radios and ancillary equipment for several foreign
military sales (FMS) countries for ground to ground and ground to air
communications. No drawings are available. Radios must possess the
following characteristics: Features: Embedded anti-jam (AJ) capability
(HAVE QUICK I & II) Collocation capability Minimal cross modulation
and intermodulation Active noise blanking Specifications: Frequency 225
to 399.975 MHz Channel spacing 25 kHZ, 7000 channels Reference
frequency stability +/- 0.01 PPM Modes of operation AM voice, AM AJ
voice, AM secure voice (with or without AJ), FM voice, FM AJ voice FM
TADIL A (Link 11) data FSK TADIL C (Link 4) data Duty Cycle Continuous
Standard 19-inch rack mountable Control Local and remote up to 5000 ft
Receiver Characteristics: Sensitivity AM (NB) 3 uV for 10dB SINAD FM
(NB) 1.5 uV for 12dB SINAD FM data 3 uV for 20dB quieting Selectivity
Narrowband +/- 12.0 kHz Wideband +/- 37.5 kHz AGC NMT 3 dB variation in
audio for 6 uV to 1 V RF input levels RF Cross Modulation Output SINAD
NLT 14 dB for undesired signal of -15 dBm at 0.4 MHz, or +14 dBm at 4
MHz RF Modulation Desired signal of NMT -90 dBm to produce 14 dB SINAD
with two off-channel signals with tones at 4 MHz, and 8 MHz, at level
of -35 dBm, modulated at 400 Hz and 1700 Hz Transmitter
Characteristics: RF Modulation AM -45 dBc FM -- -40 dBc Broadband noise

and greater from carrier Audio distortion Am and FM voice 10 percent FM
TADIL A Intermodulation products NLT 40 dB below either of two tones,
10 kHz deviation per tone Guard Receiver Characteristics: Sensitivity
1.5 uV for 10 dB signal-plus-noise to noise Selectivity 38 kHz, 6 dB
bandwidth Audio output 100 MW minimum; 300 t0 3000 Hz frequency
response. Less than 10 % distortion. Frequency of operation 243.000MHz
normal Fixed tunable 238 to 248 MHz. The AN/GRC-171X(V)4 high
performance UHF receiver-transmitter is designed for reliable
communications in normal or frequency hopping models (HQ1 and HQ 11) at
collocated VHF/UHF transmitter-receiver sites. The equipment is
completely solid-state, providing AM and FM communications on any one
of 7,000 channels in the 225 to 399.975 MHz band with 20 watts AM or 50
watts FM carrier output. Plug -in modular construction and built-in
test minimize mean-time-to-repair to no more than 20 minutes. The
solid-state power amplifer is ruggedized for operation into high
antenna vswr's under severe environmental conditions.
Receiver-transmitter and remote control MTBF's are in excess of 6,000
and 43,000 hours, respectively. Troublesome interference problems at
collocated sites are significantly reduced by an internal electronic RF
filter. Radios must be capable of being installed in close proximity
with minimal cross modulation and intermoduation. If you have a similar
radio that you believe may meet these requirements, please forward a
technical data package for evaluation to SM-ALC PKL-2, 5039 Dudley
Blvd., McClellan AFB, CA 95652-1027. All responses must be received by
the close of business (1600 hours) on 30 JAN 1998. The Government does
not intend to pay for any information provided in response to this
request. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0505 19980123\SP-0013.MSC)
