B -- FACILITY/LABORATORY SUPPORT SOL 105/3000Z/98 POC Jacquelyn Connell, Contract Specialist, (202) 231-2452 The Virginia Contracting Activity of the Defense Intelligence Agency intends to issue a solicitation for a 100% Small Business Set-Aside competitive award for services to maintain the facilities used for foreign materiel exploitation (FME) and testing at the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC), located at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Daily operations require technical experts using vehicles, tools, and materials to inventory, maintain, repair, test, disassemble, transport, and operate foreign materiel. Personnel and materials necessary to support MSIC's various laboratories, overall explosive ordnance program, foreign materiel operations, foreign materiel operations facilities, and foreign document control are required for performance of this effort. Worldwide travel may be required. The services to be provided include analyzing, operating, testing, collecting data, and repairing foreign and domestic radars, missile subsystems, C4 systems/subsystems, or simulators of the same. Using MSIC's laboratories, technical engineers and technicians are necessary to perform radio frequency (RF), electro-optical (EO) and infrared (IR) measurements on foreign and domestic systems. Anticipated date of release of the solicitation is on or about 27 February 1998, with proposals due on or about 30 April 1998. The period of performance for the base period is two years from date of award (on or about 31 August 1998), with two option periods. No telephone requests will be accepted.
