The OTS is seeking proposals from firms that operate as insurance carriers (not brokers) to provide management and operation of a long-term disability insurance program covering its employees (current and future active full-time and part-time employees, and temporary employees -- non-permanent appointments). The plan will serve as a supplement to disability benefits currently available to OTS employees under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), Civil Service Retirement System (CRS), and Financial Institutions Retirement Fund (FIRF) retirement systems. The program shall cover OTS employees nation-wide. This is an unrestricted procurement. The resultant contract and program will cover calendar year 1999 and provide for optional years 2000 and 2001. Anticipated RFP issuance date is February 12, 1998, with a closing date of March 23, 1998.
