MILITARY FAMILY HOUSING PRIVATIZATION INITIATIVE FORUM The Army Capital Venture Initiatives (CVI) Team and the Professional Housing Managers Association (PHMA) will host the first Industry Forum covering all the military services (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines) plans and progress on the Military Family Housing Privatization Initiative. The Forum provides an excellent opportunity to find out what has been accomplished and what the future plans are for each of the military services. Participants will hear the private sector perspective from developers and financiers that have been involved in the actual process. Developers and financiers will provide feedback on the pros and cons of the program, lessons learned, and recommendations for improving the process in the future. The Forum will not focus on one base/installation but instead on the overall program. Its goal is to improve interface between the private and government sectors in moving this important initiative forward. Some of the specific topics to be discussed are: Lessons Learned from the Fort Carson, Colorado Project (discussions may be limited depending upon procurement status of contract); Scoring and Tax Issues; Discussion of Mortgage Guarantee and Direct Loan Programs; Presentation by the Housing Revitalization Support Office on the Overall Program; Presentations by Each of the Military Services on Their Family Housing Privatization Plans and Programs; Developer and Financier Viewpoint of the Program; Discussion of Employment Opportunities for Housing Personnel After Contract Award. After each individual session there is time allotted for questions and answers and feedback from participants. The Forum will be open to all government, military, and private sector personnel involved in the privatization of military housing and will be held on February 20, 1998 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Doubletree Warren Hotel. In order to set aside enough hotel rooms, it is requested that you contact Mr. Casey Lowe, National Association of Homebuilders Research Center by February 6, 1998.
