This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). Solicitation number N00164-98-R-0017. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45. This acquisition is unrestricted. The associated Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1429 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is not reserved for small business. This requirement is for the purchase and delivery of Sand and Stone in various sizes as follows: CLIN 0001 -- quantity 500 TN min/60,000 TN max, Crushed Limestone, Size No. 53, Class A, in accordance with Indiana State Specifications (1985 Up-Date): 100%to pass thru 1 1/2" screen, 80-100% to pass thru 1" screen, 70-90% to pass thru 3/4" screen, 55-80% to pass thru 1/2" screen, 35-60% to pass thru No. 4 screen, 25-50% to pass thru No. 8 screen, 5-10% to pass thru No. 20 screen, and 12-30% to pass thru No. 30 screen. Soundness (sodium sulphate) 12% loss maximum. No individual piece weighs more than 120 Lbs.. 90-100% of the material passes a 12" sieve, 20-60% of the material passes 6" sieve not more than 10% of the materia passes a 1 1/2" sieve. NOTE: Reasonable care shall be taken in loading to obtain a similar gradation for consecutive loads. CLIN 0009 -- quantity 1000 TN min/20,000 TN max, Stone, Designated RIPRAP, Commercial Grade, Quarry Run in accordance with Indiana State Specifications (1985 Up-Date). CLIN 0010 -- quantity 1000 TN min/50,000 TN max, Sand, No. 24, washed, clean, free of dirt and objectional matter, in accordance with Indiana State Specifications (1985 Up-Date). Actual delivery dates will be specified in each individual delivery order with inspection and acceptance at destination.
