70 -- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY-AVAILABILITY OF COTS BUDGET PREPARATION SYSTEM SOL RFI-MRP/MSD/IT-1.1998 DUE 020598 POC Angela Thompson, Contracting Officer, (301) 734-3264 The Government requests information regarding the commerical availability of a Budget Preparation System, capable of providing the following: 1) Financial Module -- this module would be used to identify an office's financial needs. These needs will be identified across object class categories, such as salaries and benefits, travel, rent/communication/utilities, services, supplies, etc. 2) Workload Module -- this module will be used to project the hours of work which will be accomplished for each line item and/or task within line item(s). 3) Program Budgeting Module -- this module will be used to combine financial and workload information in order to produce a line item and/or sub-line (task) budget. The need for the Program Budget Module arises when costs identified in the Financial Module cannot readily be assigned to a particular line item and within a line item to particular tasks without incorporating workload information. This module should also allow a manager to see the total costs (field salaries and other costs (travel, supplies, etc.)) associated with each line item and task within line items. The system must be capable of accomodating multiple funding sources and multiple organizational divisions. To accommodate agency IT Modernization efforts, the product must also operate in a standard IT environment, consisting of PCs using Window-95 and a Window NT LAN environment. In addition, the product must be Year 2000 compliant and provide multi-user capability. Product literature shall specify the operating and systems environment needed, including product specific proprietary system requirements. Vendors are encouraged to submit two (2) sets of product literature stating product capabilities, commerical price lists, and product availability. Indicate the type of business (i.e.: Large, Small, 8(a) Certified, Women Owned) and available contract vehicles, if applicable (GWAC, FSS, Open Market, etc.). The government is anticipating hosting a product demonstration during the 3rd quarter of FY98. If interested in participating, please indicate with you product literature submission.
