Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), Hamilton Montana, Rocky Mountain
Veterinary Branch of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious
Diseases intends to contract with the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital,
Hamilton, Montana for overall administration of the Animal Exposure
Surveillance Program (AESP) for a basic twelve (12) month period and
four (4) option years. Due to the critical nature of incidents which
may occur, particularly as a result of exposure to body secretions or
neurologic tissues from non-human primates, and the need to drive
participants to the medical care facility as promptly as possible, it
is mandatory that the care-giving facility be in close proximity
(within twenty-five miles) to the RML. It has been determined that the
Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is the only source that can satisfy the
requirements of the Animal Exposure Surveillance Program and is
located within a twenty-five (25) mile radius of the RML. See Numbered
