COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 27,1998 PSA#2019AIR POLLUTION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY STATEHOLDERS MEETING EPA has awarded
a cooperative agreement (CR826152) to the Research Triangle Institute
(RTI) for an Environmental Technology Verification Pilot Program in Air
Pollution Control Technology. This program is being designed to verify
the performance characteristics of commercial-ready air pollution
control technology through the evaluation of objective and
quality-assured data so that potential purchasers and permitters are
provided with an independent and credible assessment of what they are
buying and permitting. RTI is designing a verification strategy to
include developing test protocols with quality assurance provisions,
performing verification testing, and issuing verification statements.
RTI has established a Stakeholders Advisory Committee (SAC) to assist
in selecting and prioritizing air pollution control technologies for
verification testing. The SAC includes representatives from EPA,
States, Associations representing the regulated community, Associations
representing the manufacturers and vendorsof air pollution control
technologies, environmental groups, and other interested organizations
and/or representives. The first meeting of the SAC is scheduled for
February 12 and 13, 1998. The meeting will be held at the U.S. EPA's
Environmental Research Center's Auditorium, 86 T.W. Alexander Drive,
Research Triangle Park, NC. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. on
Thursday, February 12 and end by approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday,
February 13, 1998. This meeting is open to the public but space is
