The project consists of select reconstruction and resurfacing of the Blue Ridge Parkway from Milepost 136 to Milepost 150. The project work includes cold in-place recycling of the top 4 inches of the existing asphalt pavement, placement of 2 inches of hot asphalt concrete pavement overlay, aggregate-topsoil course placement, drainage improvements, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Aggregate-topsoil course, 10,000 t; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, Class C, Grading VA SM-2A, Type 3 pavement smoothness, 21,000 t; Continuous cold recycled asphalt base course Type B, 160,000 m2; Paved waterway, Type 2, mortared rubble, 6,600 m2; Remove and reset stone masonry, 100 m3.
