materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal
necessary to perform the Cadet Parking Lot Security project at the U.S.
Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT (New London County). Work includes
installing the following items for a 147 vehicle parking lot: 6 foot
chain link fence with barbed wire, including a 24 foot cantilevered
slide gate and 4 foot swing gate; site lighting and security camera
system; card activated gate operator for the 24 foot cantilevered slide
gate and card activated electromagnetic lock for the 4 foot swing gate.
Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC
code is 1731. The construction completion date shall be no later than

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000. For further information
