This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N00604-98-Q-A608 applies and is issued as a Request For Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-11. The standard industrial code is 3699 the business size standard is 750 employees. This requirement is for 14,000 feet, Submersible Cable, U/L Type TC, 600V, 3/conductor #4/0 AWG, Stranded Copper XLP XHHW insulation, coded ICEA Method#4 80 Mil PVC Jacket overall, polyethylene, 2000 feet continuous length. This will be a firm fixed priced contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The shipping terms will be F.O.B. destination, NAVSEADET, NISMF, Waipahu, Hawaii, with inspection/acceptance at destination. Delivery of the submersible cable is required 60 days after receipt of the contract. Standard practice for Commercial Packaging. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies. Addendum to FAR 52.212-1: Paragraph (b), Technical Description substitute "Descriptive literature" for "technical description"; Paragraph (h), Multiple awards-Delete entire paragraph.
