Jackson, Contracting Officer, 703/441-3085 (Voice), 703/441-3070 (Fax) A/E firm to provide professional services for the expansion of the Fort Scott National Cemetery including site development of eleven acres for gravesites, a committal service shelter, restoration of the lodge into administrative office, limited restoration of the maintenance building, restoration of the perimeter wall, utility upgrades and an environmental assessment of the proposed expansion (Project Number 893CM3006). The A/E team should include the disciplines necessary to do this type of work. Emphasis will be placed on firms with demonstrated experience in site development and building restoration that demonstrates pragmatic adaptive reuse restorations. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Applicants must have an established working office in the State of Kansas of sufficient size and experience to accomplish the project. Interested firms are encouraged to submit Standard Forms 254 and 255, as well as up to ten examples of past projects of this type. Firms submitting the proper information within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Selection will be based on the following criteria: 1) Experience of the firm in this type and scale of work; 2) Previous experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs; 3) Previous experience with proposed subconsultants in accomplishing this type of project; 4) Location of the firm within the specified geographic area.
