COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 28,1998 PSA#202015TH ANNUAL NDIA INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE CONFERENCE. "INTERNATIONAL
ARMAMENTS TRADE & COOPERATION: GLOBAL & REGIONAL DYNAMICS." The 15th
Annual Conference of the International Committee of the National
Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) will be held on 18-19 March 1998
at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, Arlington, Virginia. This
annual conference, held with the cooperation of the Departments of
Defense, State, and Commerce, will again feature very senior officials
of each department, the Assistant Secretary General of NATO, a
European National Armaments Director, an Ambassador from a key Latin
American trading partner, a senior member of the U.S. Senate and panels
comprised of recognized industry and government experts. The speakers
and panels will discuss several timely and very significant topics
among which are: U.S. Policies on International Armaments Trade and
Cooperation; the European Perspective on Armaments Cooperation; the
"New NATO;" the Impact of the New Conventional Arms Transfer Policy on
Trade with Latin America; DoD's Assessment of International
Cooperative Opportunities; the Evolution of the US-Japan Defense
Industrial Relationship; a Pacific Rim Forecast for Defense Trade; and
a LATAM and Pacific Rim perspective on US Policies and Practices in
the International Armaments and Cooperation arena. This conference
provides the opportunity for a unique industry-government interface on
issues which impact the U.S. defense industry in its efforts to
compete in the international market. Key decision makers will discuss
policies and explain the reasoning that led to them. Audience members
will, in turn, have the opportunity to provide input to these decision
