764-6659 (Site Code DACA67) The synopsis originally issued on June 13,
1997 under DACA67-97-R-0055 is hereby corrected as follows: This
project is a design build for the repair and upgrade of heating systems
at fort Lewis Washington. The work includes the following: (1)
Demolition of a Central Steam Plant and (2) the conversion of 68
buildings from district steam to natural gas (along with subsequent
building heating system equipment changes), and one building from steam
to electric. Most of the gas fired radiant heaters shall be of the high
intensity non-vented type. The boiler plant which is to be demolished
includes four steam boilers, condensate receivers, feedwater pumps,
deaerator, steam and condensate piping, forced draft fans, induced
draft fans, fuel oil heating equipment, fuel oil piping, gas piping,
concrete structure, buried fuel oil tanks, and an aboveground fuel oil
tank. The RFP package shall consist of as-built drawings and reference
drawings which depict the existing condiitions is in sufficient detail
such that the proposers can adequately determine both engineering and
construction costs. The successful proposer shall provide detailed
engineering services for required demolition and installation of new
equipment. Availability: Plans and specs available on or about 6 April
1998 at no charge per set. No individual sheets are available.
Documents will be issued on a first come, first served basis until
supply is exhausted. No phone requests will be accepted. Refer to RFP
Number DACA67-98-R-0009 when ordering. Due to rescoping of project
entitled Repair and Upgrade Heating System at Fort Lewis, WA, Firms
Wishing To Have Their Names Removed From The Planholder List, Should

requesting under DACA67-97-R-0055 need take no additional action. For
all other firms interested in this project, requests must be in writing
and be received before bid documents will be mailed. Requests may be

plans-room-cenws-ct@usace.army.mil, confirmation copy need not be
mailed. Please be sure to indicate if your firm is a Prime, Sub, or
Plans Room. Plans and Specs may be picked up from the Plan Room from
Monday through Friday between hours of 7:30 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. Submit
requests by 30 March 1998. Estimated dollar value is in the range of $5
Million to $10 Million and completion period is 480 days. Standard
Industrial Classification Code is 1711. Project is open to both large
and small business. If you are a large business and your bid or
proposal will exceed $1,000,000 you will be required to submit a
subcontracting plan. A concern is considered small business under this
solicitation if its annual receipts average over the past three years
