This procurement will not be set aside for small business. The solicitation will be issued under a Multiple Award Schedule, FSS 51 I B, and will have a contract duration of 5 years. The Government intends to issue a "standing" solicitation, so that new offers may be submitted at any time. There will not be a pre-established contract period for contracts awarded pursuant to this solicitation, nor will there be a mandatory "closing date" for receipt of offers. The contract period will begin on the date the contract is awarded and will end five years thereafter. Clause I-FSS-164-A, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract(8/95), will be incorporated in this solicitation. This provides for one five-year option period with annual open seasons. NOTE: Current contractors under the Standardization and Control of Industrial Quality Tools Program (SCIT) may elect to retain their existing contracts through the end of the contract period (February 28, 2001), or they may submit new offers under this standing solicitation and cancel the existing contract at time of award.
