J -- REPAIR OF REPAIRABLES (ROR) FOR VIBRATION ANALYSIS SUPPORT EQUIPMENT (VASE) SOL N68335-97-G-0270 DUE 022698 POC L. Stibich, 233LS, 732-323-4771 The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst requires repair services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Chadwick-Helmut Co. Inc., 4601 N. Arden Drive, El Monte, CA 91731. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, this firm is considered the only supplier of these services because they are the sole designer and manufacturer of the Vibration Analysis Support Equipment (VASE), already purchased by the Government. The VASE is a microprocessor-based instrument designed to acquire and record AH-1W and H-46 rotor system vibration data and rotor blade tracking information. The proposed Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) for repair of services shall be for a period of three (3) years. Repairs will consist of repair/replacement of defective sub-components that are beyond the maintenance capability of the intermediate level. All repairs will be done using original manufactured replacement parts. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within thirty days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (0027)
