The following is a brief description of the work to be performed: Within the "limits of Clearing" and "Corridors requiring Clearing" (in accrodance with specification drawings) cut and mulch in place all trees, brush, scrub growth and other obstructions not to exceed 6 inches above the ground level or in wet areas as close to the water surface as practical. Cut by hand equipment and mulch in place all trees larger than 12 inches in diameter as well as all trees and brush on the banks of streams and the St John RIver. All cutting except cutting by hand equipment must be done by a drum type cutter/mulcher that directs debris down instead of to the front, left or right. It must have low enough ground pressure so that it will mow wetland areas and minmally disturb the soil and vegetation root mats. Work is located at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. The SIC is 7353. The solicitation package is scheduled to be issued on or about February 12, 1998. Performance period is 30 calendar days.
