This is a special notice being issued by Westinghouse Savannah River Company, management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to determine public interest in licensing and commercializing a technology called the Portable Containment and Protection Sleever. Developed at Savannah River Site, this technology is a device for enclosing objects in a protective sheath or sleeve. The sleeve increases workplace safety and protects physical property, especially when used on original construction. The use of this inexpensive device can reduce routine maintenance and repair costs. Respondents will be provided with a technical brief and instructions for preparing and submitting a business plan. Responses to this notice must be received by February 27, 1998. Business plans must be submitted no later than March 27, 1998.
