J -- PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE/REMEDIAL REPAIR SOL N68936-98-R-0060 POC Stephen Beckner, Contract Specialist, (805) 989-8241 The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA intends to issue a commercial item solicitation for the procurement of preventative maintenance and remedial repair of ground based communications equipment for a period of one base year and three one year options. See FAR 12.204(b) & 5.203(a)(1). The contractor is to provide labor, tools, parts, materials and supplies to troubleshoot, install, remove, repair, maintain and provide engineering services to correct malfunctions in any equipment, network or system in the NAWS, Point Mugu commercial two-way radio communications infrastructure. An equipment list will be provided with the Statement of Work. The Government will provide on-base facilities for the maintenance and repair to be conducted. All equipment is located at the NAWS, Point Mugu and will be serviced on-site. The contractor must provide: component level repairs on VHF/UHF portable and mobile radio communication equipment; experience with the US Navy's 3M PMS system through the work center supervisor level; one FCC licensed technician to assign to the contract; technicians experienced with performing Intrinsically Safe (IS) inspections and maintenance on IS equipment approved by Factory Mutual and Underwriters Laboratories.
