The Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Southeast Regional Office, Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking request for construction, demolition, and renovation projects for the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia. Construction will consist of a new 2000 sf masonry and steel building. Demolition will consist of~~ two concrete and masonry structures, one approximately 80,000 sf on four levels, the other is 30,000 sf on three levels. Renovation will consist of moving the laundry from one building to another. The contractor shall be responsible for all coordination and interfacing of all the construction sites and the contractor shall be responsible for maintaining security measures and standards by the Bureau of Prisons for a maximum security prison environment. The estimated cost range of the project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Plans and specifications will be available upon written requests only, and with a refundable cost of $150.00 a set. All payment must be in the form of a check or money order and made payable to Heery International Inc. Plans and specifications will be available on or about March 5, 1998. Contract performance is anticipated to be approximately 780 calendar days after notice to proceed. Inspection of plans without charge will be at the Southeast Regional Office, Janie Ehmig, Civil Engineer, Facilities Dept., 715 McDonough Blvd., S.E., Atlanta, Georgia. Contractors not bidding on this project must advise the contracting officer in writing that they wish to remain on the mailing list. This procurement is not set-aside for small business firms.
