E-MAIL: David D. Reeves, David.Reeves-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for VME Chassis Assemblies described in KSC technical specification 84K03401. Operating characteristics are described in the specification. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and specifically FAR subpart 13.6 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. As stated previously, the Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price indefinite type contract with a minimum quantity of 50 chassis and a maximum quantity of 126 chassis. The contract requires an initial working unit within 30 days of contract award. The unit will be reviewed for compliance to the specification. Upon completion of the review an additional 25 units will be required within 45 days. An additional 25 units will be required 30 days thereafter. Indefinite quantity requirements are for an additional 75 units. The anticipated release date of RFO10-98-0024 is on or about February5, 1998, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about February 23, 1998. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3577 and 1,000 employees respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9 All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
