E-MAIL: David D. Reeves, David.Reeves-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for Vertical Cabinets described in KSC technical specification 84K03400. Operating characteristics are described in the specification. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and specifically FAR subpart 13.6 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. As stated previously, the Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price indefinite type contract with a minimum quantity of 100 cabinets, 500 blank panels, and 500 mounting angles per the specification. The contract requires initial working units within 30 days of contract award. The units will be reviewed for compliance to the specification. Upon completion of a review an additional 40 cabinets will be required within 45 days. An additional 60 cabinets will be required 30 days thereafter. Indefinite quantity requirements are for an additional 300 cabinets. 500 blank panels will be required within of 45 days after review of initial items. Indefinite delivery requirements will be for an additional amount of blank panels. 500 mounting angles will be required within of 45 days after review of initial items. Indefinite delivery requirements will be for an additional amount of mounting angles. The anticipated release date of RFO10-98-0025 is on or about February 5, 1998, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about February 23, 1998. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3577 and 1,000 employees respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9 All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
