Box 2412 or 5012, Amman, Jordan The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) of the Ministry of water and irrigation is soliciting technical and financial proposals for the preparation of a technical and economic feasibility study, final design for the water and wastewater facility at aqaba, and construction supervision of the wastewater facilities. This project will be financed by USAID under the water strategic objective agreement, grant no. 278- 0288. Project description: the main elements of the project are: -- to review the previous feasibility studies, the design and the operating results of the existing aqaba water and wastewater facilities. -- To assess the environmental impacts of the existing water and wastewater facilities in the project area. -- To carryout a hydraulic network analysis and rehabilitation study of the aqaba water system. -- To recommend and design rehabilitation and improvements to the water facilities to serve the population of the project area to the year 2025. -- To recommend and design improvements to the wastewater facilities to serve the population of the project area to the year 2025. It is recommended that the existing wastewater treatment facilities be incorporated in the new proposed system. -- To carryout the environmental assessment of the proposed project. -- To propose the appropriate phasing of the construction of the proposed project. -- To supervise the construction of the expansion of aqaba wastewater facilities.
