V -- ADVANCED TRACEABILITY AND CONTROL (ATAC) RETROGRADE DEPOT LEVEL REPAIRABLE (DLR) PROGRAM SOL N00140-98-R-TBD DUE 033098 POC Point of Contact -- Joanne Gallagher (215) 697-9603, John Striano (215)697-9603 The Fleet Industrial Supply Center Detachment Philadelphia intends to issue a solicitation for a firm fixed price contract for Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) Retrograde Depot Level Repairable (DLR) Services for the Naval Supply System Command (NAVSUP). A twelve-month base period and four twelve-month option periods are contemplated. ATAC is a special tracking and processing system designed to provide improved visibility and inventory accuracy in order to minimize repair cycle times for expensive repairable components whcih had become defective and have been turned into the supply system by their users for repair and return to serviceable condition. ATAC provides visibility of assets worldwide and expedites the flow of material through the repair cycle. This requirement will be solicited using commercial items practices in accordance with FAR Part 12. This solicitation is part of a Government cost comparison to determine whether accomplishing th! e specified work under contract or by Government performance is more economical. If Government performance is determined to be more economical, this solicitation will be cancelled and no contract will be awarded. Offerors shall be required to submit price and technical proposals.
