THE EFFECTS OF INTEGRATING THE NP2000 SYSTEM IN THE T56 SERIES POWERED

akinma@navair.navy.mil. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place
an order under the terms of basic ordering agreement,
N00019-95-G-0001, with Allison Engine Company for non-recurring
engineering, test services and program support to facilitate the
integration of the NP2000 propeller system in the E-2C/C2-A aircraft
powered by Allison Model T56 engines. The engineering effort requires
preliminary structural analysis to determine potential structural
effect of the NP2000 system the T56 Series III and IV engines as
integrated in the E-2C and C-2A aircraft. Specific investigations
include fatigue loads on the prop shaft, engine carcass loads due to
maneuvers, 1xP loads and hard landings and engine vibratory modes.
Technical management support may include support of the NP2000 IPT,
associate contractors in design review and provision of data. Allison
Engine Company has a forty year investment in the design, development
and manufacture of Model T56 series engines and is the only source with
the T56 design, performance and engineering expertise, data, models and
test capability required to perform the analysis and assess the effects
of the NP2000 propeller system on engine performance characteristics
