Hawkins (301) 435 -- 0366 E-MAIL: hawkins@gwgate.nhlbi.nih.gov,
spearmal@gwgate.nhlbi.nih.gov. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood
Institute intends to purchase an Enhanced UltraRapid Multiscan
Spectrometer (UMS) for the National Institutes of Health that meets the
Laboratory of Cell Biology goals of safety, security and equitable
distribution of data for the NHLBI. The Enhanced UltraRapid Multiscan
Spectrometer (UMS) must be able to perform several hundred experiments,
with identical parameters, with less than one (1) second separating
experiments. The Enhanced UltraRapid Multiscan Spectrometer (UMS) must
utilize a Personal Computer (PC) Windows-based user-interface for
control of the experiment to provide: [a] Sample rate versus time; [b]
Name of data file; [c] Arming of system; [d] Availability of data The
Enhanced UltraRapid Multiscan Spectrometer (UMS) must interface with
the optics and analog front-end of an existing UltraRapid Multiscan
Spectrometer. The new signal acquisition system must be able to sample
ninty-six (96) distinct channels simultaneously with sixteen (16) bit
A/D conversion resolution at a sampling rate of at least one-hundred
(100) kHz, with a minimum of fourteen (14) effective bits. The Enhanced
UltraRapid Multiscan Spectrometer (UMS) must also accept a zero (0) --
ten (10) V peak unipolar input signal, have the ability to store at
least one-thousand twenty-four (1024) samples per channel, and allow
for a dynamically decreasing sampling rate. This decreasing sampling
rate is to be configured by the user prior to the experiment. The
lowest effective sampling rate will be forty-eight (48) Mhz. All source
code will be provided, as well as documentation for all hardware,
software & overall system. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)
Code 3826, Size Standard 500 Employees will be used for this
requirement. This acquisition is a Small Business Set-Aside. Interested
parties should request a copy of the Solicitation Number
