C -- A/E ASSESSMENT OF SPACE USAGE -- ST. ALBANS OPC SOL 527-18-98 DUE 022798 POC Mrs. Jo Ann Petrillo (718) 630-3566 The Veterans Administration requires the services of a professional architect/engineer firm to accomplish an assessment of space usage of the Out Patient Clinics located at the VA Extended Care Center in St. Albans, Queens, New York. The services include study of existing outpatient clinics and space to determine efficient layout, function and operation; develop concepts; propose layout options; provide final report with recommendations to improve space and process. Phase II -- preparation of a complete design development including verify existing as-built drawings; prepare preliminary plan; develop conceptual design and schematic drawings; prepare detailed cost estimate; prepare asbestos survey and report. Phase III -- prepare complete contract drawings and specifications including demolition, architectural, plumbing, mechanical and electrical drawings; detailed cost estimate; asbestos abatement documents and construction period services. The completion time for this project excluding construction period services is 100 calendar days. This procurement is open to both small and large business participation. The applicable SICC is 8712. Interested parties shall submit Standard Forms 254 and 255 no later than February 27, 1998 close of business. Selection of firms for negotiations shall be based on (1) Professional capabilities; (2) Specialized experience and technical competence, as required; (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time; (4) past performance on contracts (5) Utilization of CADD, (6) Geographic location within 100 miles of the St. Albans Medical Center and knowledge of the locality of the project.
