work described herein, will be recieved by the Honey Creek-Vigo
Conservancy District until 2:00 p.m., local time, March 5, 1998, at the
USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service Field Office, Honey Creek
West, 3241 South Third Place, Terre Haute, Indiana 47802, and at that
time publicly opened and read for the construction of Honey Creek,
Part B, Watershed Project, located near the city of Terre Haute, Vigo
County, Indiana. The estimated quantities of the major items of work
are: 1 JB Clearing & Grubbing; 163 ACRES Seeding & Mulching; 16,550 LF
Vegetated Filter Strip; 1 JB Construction Surveys; 1 JB Mobilization;
47,400 CY Channel Excavation; 172,000 CY Class A Earthfill; 14,800 LF
Temporary Diversion; 330 LF Foundation Drain; 135.0 CY Class 4000
Concrete; 13,350 LB Steel Reinforcement; 390 LF Polyethylene Tubing;
Corrugated Metal Pipe-700 LF of 12" dia, 200 LF of 15" dia, 450 LF of
24" dia, 112 LF of 36" dia; 2,730 TONS Riprap; 24 EA Temporary Rock
Check Dam; 11 EA Temporary Construction Entrance; 1 JB Low Water
Crossing; Flap Gate-10 EA of 12" dia, 1 EA of 15" dia, 6 EA of 24" dia,
2 EA of 36" dia; 10 EA Lunker Bunker; 1 JB Contractor Quality Control;
2,850 LF Temporary Silt Fence; 1 JB Temporary Jordan Ditch Crossing;

Compacted Aggregate Base; 1,420 LF Road Reconstruction. The estimated
price range for the work is $ 1,000,000 to $ 5,000,000. All bids must
be accompanied by bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, money
order, or cash in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the
amount bid. Corporations executing bonds as sureties must be among
those appearing on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of approved
sureties. Facsimiles are NOT acceptable. A contract will not be awarded
to a firm in which any official of the sponsoring local organization,
the contracting local organization, or any member of such official's
immediate family has direct or indirect interest in the pecuniary
profits or contracts. All work shall be completed within 400 calendar
days after the date of receipt of notice to proceed. Prospective
bidders may assemble at the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation
Service (NRCS) Field Office, Honey Creek West, 3241 South Third Place,
Terre Haute, IN 47802, Telephone (812) 234-6505, at 10:00 a.m., local
time, on February 11, 1998, for a group showing of the worksite.
Complete assembly of the Invitation for Bids, including Plans and
Specifications for the work, may be obtained from the Contracting
Officer at the NRCS address above. Bids must be accompanied by a
financial statement, statement of experience, plan for performance of
the work, and equipment available on State Board of Accounts Form No.
96 together with a Non-Collusion Affidavit required by IC 36-1-12-4.
