The contractor will furnish all closing services, including obtaining title insurance, as in any commercial transaction, including disbursement of funds, obtaining deeds, subordinations, or any other necessary instruments to insure merchantable title. All documents are subject to review by the Office of General Counsel prior to closing.The closing will be conducted in the parish in which the easement is located. The Wetland Reserve Program requires the utilization of Department of Justice approved attorneys, abstractors, and title insurance companies. If you are an agent for a title underwriter in the issuance of title evidence in Louisiana, you need not be approved. The contractor is responsible for having a current knowledge of the requirements of Louisiana state law in connection with closing real estate transactions and title clearance. Liability insurance is required. The parishes involved may be throughout the state of Louisiana, however are located primarily in the Northeast part of the State. This is a small business set-aside. The SIC code is 8111. A firm-fixed price, indefinite quanitity contract will be awarded containing a three year option. A minimum of $10,000 is guaranteed under the base contract.
