The National Park Service has a requirement to accomplish tenant improvements as part of the rehabilitation of Building 220, Presidio of San Francisco. Work will include site work, plantings, grading, turf, and irrigation;rehabilitation of existing historic wood-paneled doors, rehabilitation of existing historic interior transom windows, interior painting, carpet installation, completion of heating and ventilation systems, and other various types of associated work elements. Pursuant to FAR Part 15, this is a negotiated procurement. The MINIMUM requirement for consideration requires that Prime Contractor and all subcontractors possess a valid California Contractor's License and be in good standing with the appropriate regulatory organization. Other significant evaluation criteria, listed in order of descending importance, are: (1) demonstrated successful completion of similar project in a National Register historic building located in the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area; (2) demonstrated knowledge and use of best construction practices for historic building preservation, as described in the general building preservation, conservation and rehabilitation literature; (3) demonstrated ability in completing similar projects on schedule and within budgetary limitations; and (4)full service office located with 75 miles of project location (Bldg. 220, French Court & Halleck Street, Presidio of San Francisco). This action is unrestricted and is pursued through full and open competition. Submission of offers by women-owned business concerns, and minority-owned business enterprises is encouraged. The applicable SIC code is 1542. The magnitude of construction is $100,000 to $250,000. Funds for this project are currently not allocated, and this requirement is SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. Solicatation documents are expected to be available o/a March 18, 1998.
