"hartsock"@smtp.lmn.usace.army.mil. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers,
New Orleans District requires a new, 26 foot (nominal), twin diesel
engine powered, twin screw, all welded steel workboat with a towboat
style hull. The hull shall be of all welded steel construction, divided
into a minimum of three watertight compartments by transverse
bulkheads. The pilothouse shall consist of an all welded steel
watertight enclosed structure raised above the main deck so that the
sole is 6 feet above the waterline. The sole dimensions shall be a
minimum of 5 feet long and 4 feet wide. Minimum and maximum dimensions
include overall length of 25 feet to 25 feet 6 inches, beam overall 13
feet six inches to 14 feet, depth molded 4 feet 6 inches to 5 feet,
light displacement with 30,000 poinds maximum. Minimum scantlings
include three eighths inch steel hull plating, one quarter inch steel
deck plating, three sixteenths inch steel superstructure plating, one
half inch steel headlog/sternlog. The workboat shall be a current
standard design from a manufacturer regularly engaged in the
construction of boats of this type. The Contractor shall modify and
outfit his standard design to meet all the requirements of the
Government's specification. The boat will be used to maneuver barges at
worksites on various navigable waterways within the New Orleans
District. Delivery is required within 180 days after receipt of notice
