(301)227-5240 Sources Sought for Electrolytic Cells to be used in the
production of Sodium Hypochlorite. This is not a Request for Proposals
and no contract will be awarded solely on the basis of the response
hereto, or on follow-up information subsequently sought. No
reimbursement for any costs associated with providing this information
will be made. Sources are sought for electrolytic cells to be used in
the production of solium hypochlorite. The Carderock Division of the
Naval Surface Warfare Center (CDNSWC) is seeking informatin on
companies which have a demonstrated capability of producing eletrolytic
cells for the production of sodium hypochlorite. The sodium
hypochlorite will be used for the disinfection of shipboard water
supplies. Candidates must be able to produce up to 3.0 pounds of
chlorine per day from a solution of standard table salt and potable
water. A closed, flow through type of cell is preferred. Respondants
must provide their name, address, and a point-of-contact with phone and
fax numbers. Respondants must also provide a description of the
electrolytic cell including the general configuration, the overall
dimensions, and the operating parameters. Respondants should also
indicate applications where the cell is used, the expected cost for
orders of about 50 units, and the expected life of the cell. All
applicable patents (issued and pending) must be identified. Clearly
identify all proprietary and cost information that is not to be
published or disseminated. Mail three (3) copies of each response to:
